Cruisin' the Coast

No trip to the Algarve would be complete without cruising up and down the coastline. For today's adventure, we headed out on a catamaran with Algarve Charters (30 Euros each). The cruise took 3 hours, with a cruising speed of 9-12 knots. Amazing views of the rugged coastline and beaches along the way, some of which are only accessible by the sea.

Into the entrance of the Benagil cave (not shown in the pics) would have been amazing in a kayak or by swimming from the shore, but these activities have been restricted and access is denied due to overcrowding since the beginning of the summer. We did get up close, but just could not disembark the boat.

We anchored in another cool spot surrounded by towering cliffs all around and we were able to jump off the boat and go swimming. We had come prepared with out bathing suits already on under our clothes. The water was so refreshing and no sharks! haha.

Once we were done with our swim, we cruised back to the marina in the blazing sun, while the crew popped some 'champs' and passed it around - even better, it was free! The tunes were cranked and the playlist was a medley of Oldies - Elvis, Beatles, Fats Domino, Chubby Checker, Beach Boys - it was sooo good!

We disembarked at the marina and 1:00 p.m. and made our way to one of the many restaurants at the marina for lunch. What a great morning! Next time, I will definitely do a kayak tour! Another excuse to return to the Algarve.

Once back to our apartment, courtesy of our Uber driver (4 Euros), we chilled on the balcony for a bit and then it was time for some retail therapy - (my mom's idea) with a walk around Old Town, Bar Street and the Beach.

FYI - when you can't decide on which colour to buy - you really should just buy both, right?!?! My mom either taught me well or has corrupted me with the need to have excessive purchases...I am leaning toward corruption! haha!
