Trains, Trains, Trains...and Uber!

Travel Day Back to Lisbon

sunny 27 °C

We departed Albufeira this morning and headed back to Lisbon via the 8:45 a.m. train. We took an Uber to the train station (6 Euros) and only took 15 minutes to get there. I was surprised on how many people were already there and here I thought, I was being the early-bird!

We sat in first class again with assigned seating. I had chosen 2 seats facing each other with a table in the middle. The seats were really comfy, although they don't recline, it was a smooth ride for the 3 hour journey. My ticket cost 27 Euros for one way and my mom's senior discount was only 14 Euros. The golden age privilege once again pays off!

We took an Uber back to our original hotel from last week, Rossio Plaza Hotel, and to our delight, the rooms were ready! We dumped our bags, did a pit stop, checked in for tomorrow's flight home and then headed out once again to maximize our time in Lisbon.

Our day trip destination was to Cascais. The train starts at Cais do Sodre and ends at Cascais - which is a regional train making plenty of stops. The ride took about 40 minutes. When we were here last time it was cool and rainy but today was much better - warm and glorious sunshine.

There was some Porsche anniversary event going on today, so there were lots of people and lots of Porsche vehicles everywhere - I picked mine out! Now to just win the lottery!

Ventured out to Boca do Inferno - which is a coastal formation of rocks along the coast. Portugal is not Portugal without rugged rocky cliffs and crashing waves! Love it!!!
